There are two different generations of Maxtor One Touch hard drives: Maxtor One Touch III and Maxtor One Touch 4. Each generation also has two models.

The major difference between Maxtor One Touch III and 4 is the built in software that Maxtor provides. On the whole I'd recommend getting Maxtor One Touch 4 since it has better support. Also, the encasing seems to be more robust on the newer generation.
